When children are unable to remain at home or in kinship care, there is need for family foster care, preferably in the child’s home community. TFI Family Services is one of the largest sponsors of family foster care home in Kansas.

A foster family opens their hearts and their homes to the children and works together with others to bring permanency in the lives of our most vulnerable. Being a resource foster parent isn’t easy, but families often say it is one of the most rewarding experiences in their lives.

Specialized Support

TFI Family Services has developed a model of support for resource foster families that is unlike any other. It was founded on the principle of a resource foster family having their own case manager to support them and having a live voice to talk to even if it was 2 AM, on a weekend or holiday. Besides resource foster families having their own case worker, they also have their own monthly newsletters and support meetings, holiday parties, summer picnics, training opportunities and annual retreats. The resource foster family’s case manager will work in coordination with the child/family’s case worker.
