Grants for the Douglas Visitor
and Exchange Center

Child Exchange and Visitation Center Program

TFI Family Services is one of the largest recipients of this grant that provides our program and operating expenses. The Child Exchange and Visitation Center (CEVC) program from the office of Attorney General Stephen N Six provides supervised child exchange or supervised child visitation to children and families at risk because of circumstances relating to neglect; substance abuse; emotional, physical, or sexual abuse; domestic or family violence. The state portion of funding can be used to fund the local match required for receipt of federal child exchange and visitation center grants. TFI will receive $40,750 for FY09.

Federal State Access and Visitation Program

The Federal State Access and Visitation (SAVP) grant is similar to the CEVC where it helps provide supervised child exchange or supervised child visitation to children and families at risk because of circumstances relating to neglect; substance abuse; emotional, physical, or sexual abuse; domestic or family violence. This grant is facilitated by the Office of Governor Kathleen Sebelius. Funds are available to units of state or local government, for profit organizations and private not for profit organizations. A 10% non-federal cash match is required. In FY08, TFI received $9,519 for program/operating expenses for security.

City of Lawrence, KS

The City of Lawrence granted the Visitor and Exchange Center $7,500 for FY09 to aid the facility in its operations.

Kansas Health Foundation
